Teaching and creating... that's my niche.

My undergraduate education gave me a solid background in creating a multi-cultural classroom where cross-curricular connections come naturally.
I am a strong advocate of promoting art in partnership with 21st century learning skills: creativity, collaboration, communication and critical thinking - not only for my students, but for myself as a personable and reflective teacher.  I strive to be an instrument of inspiration for my students; a facilitator who helps students make connections to the world around them so they can engage and persist in the art-making process.  I do so by establishing a positive rapport with students and employing multiple teaching strategies in the art room.

I pride myself in staying up-to-date with technology through my classroom and my free-lance graphic design business.  I have worked with a variety of clients, from small businesses to non-profits and schools.  One of my recent projects included working with Fond du Lac School District to create school data profiles showing cumulative results of implementing PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports).

I resumed my teaching career in 2014 part-time at New Holstein Middle School. They prided themselves with 1:1 technology for every student, which allowed me to implement a flipped classroom model with a modified-choice studio format. In the fall of 2019, I moved to a full time position at Wrightstown High School, where I teach Art I, Drawing/Painting, Studio Art, AP Art & Design and Computer Graphics. I consider myself to be a creative leader who helps students realize new ideas and encourage fearless exploration. Let the creativity flow!
